Welcome to F:E:D - [fresh electronic delivery]
Hello Design Force. A jammed packed issue of great sites to peruse. There should be something for everyone here - that is kind of the point, ya know. Dive in.

Pjotro - This is crazy and has some Tron-like look and feel to it. Whatever it is, it is a good exploration and involves some neat interface ideas that allow you to build some musical routines.

The Oval Partnership
http://www.ovalpartnership.com/
Dig the simple nav bar at the base of the page and the featured imagery. All very slick and done right with progressive load ins as you browse around. It was done by this group pill & pillow (nice site as well).

Nike Plus
http://www.nike.com/nikeplus/
Two design giants come together to blow peoples minds. This is a swift little product and co-marketing idea. The site does a good job of explaining it and I'm sure if you are into music and a little exercise you'll find it hard to resist.

Taco Bell
http://www.tacobell.com/
The new Taco Bell! Whoa - great site. It is great to see a big brand like that put so much into their web presence. Kudos to the KNI design team for this project. They also produced Dress the Sauce Packet.

Samsung Slim
http://www.samsung.se/slim/
Quick spin transitions caught my eye. The building the blocks of type onto the screen for photo specifications looks really nice. I wonder if they were able to keep that dynamic or if they just made an image sequence out of the text block.

Heineken.nl
http://www.heineken.nl/
The scrollbar within the content areas of this site is very well done. As you rollover the 'grab' area of the skinny bar it widens as it reacts to your mouse presence. This is a simple feedback trick, but goes a long way.

Lee Jeans EUROPE
http://eu.lee.com/
Big photography, image pans & custom cursors for Lee jeans. I appreciate the graphic surroundings that all the models are placed in. Move through multiple scenes with elements in the foreground & background moving on different planes.

Let's Take Pictures
http://www.letstakepictures.info/
Neat image scroller. A little on the funky side, but fun to play with. Going into the options area and changing the color of the nav sends the control into a little dance move where it tucks up, spins into a little 3d box, then re-colors and re-extends.

New Super Mario Bros.
http://mario.nintendo.com/
Oh the memories. I love how the new Mario Bros. still looks very much like the old school original. Quirky music and big shots of the game and characters. Video clips give you a peek at power-ups and new worlds. What more do you need?

2007 Chevy Avalanche
http://www.chevrolet.com/avalanche/launch/
Liquid fly-thrus. The creators of this site spent some brain time on how to load everything in. They do a good job of pushing content in so that you can continue to fly through & around the vehicle. Fast connection helps (of course).
